The Bankiva office works with various organizations to improve the welfare of farm animals through :

Expertise
  • Support and leadership of the Etiquette Bien-Être Animal Association: management of the association's activities, leadership of the Broiler and Pork Technical Committees (in collaboration with LIT Ouesterel), scientific and technical expertise, management of communication initiatives and representation of the Association (from 2019 to present).
  • Tracking innovation in dairy goat farm welfare in the Centre region: implementation, farm surveys, data analysis and reporting (CRIEL Centre) (2021 and 2022)
  • Assessment of animal welfare issues in a production chain for fish intended for human consumption: literature review, construction of an audit grid and recommendations for improvement (2022)
  • Associate expertise in several projects to improve and enhance animal welfare (dairy, pork, veal: 2018 to present).
  • Expert appraisal of a set of better quality specifications for the dairy sector, on-farm audits and recommendations for improving the audit grid (2021)
  • Inventory of animal welfare issues within a cheese dairy (conventional or SIQO farms), drafting of a basic charter and recommendations for improvement (2021)
  • Expertise on the animal welfare risk associated with artificial insemination in a ruminant sector (2020)
  • Assessment of animal welfare issues in a poultry breeding and hatchery sector (2020)
  • Analysis of animal welfare considerations and risks in a PDO dairy industry (2018)
  • Leading a multi-stakeholder project to promote animal welfare (confidential) - 2017 to 2019
  • Assistance with the drafting of general and specific welfare policies in various livestock sectors, for a major retailer (2017)
R&D work
  • Participation in setting up a 4-year research project measuring the impact of breastfeeding and early social enrichment in the goat sector: participation in the steering committee and in charge of implementing trials on pilot farms (ongoing).
  • Management of an R&D project in the poultry industry (confidential): expertise and identification of issues, management of the monitoring committee, implementation of various protocols and monitoring, relations with project stakeholders (2019 to present).
  • Participation in Casdar Cocorico: What type of broiler farming system for tomorrow? Codesign of a farming system reconciling price and societal expectations (2021 to 2025)
  • Participation in Casdar RenouVEAU: Research and evaluation of new veal calf production methods that meet societal expectations in terms of welfare, animal health and the environment, while being economically efficient and providing quality products (2019 to 2023).
Consultations and mediation workshops
  • Creation and co-facilitation of 4 mediation workshops between consumers and poultry farmers, on the subject of animal welfare, for LIT Ouesterel (in collaboration with a facilitator and graphic facilitation) (2021 and 2022)
  • Consultation between the French pork industry (INAPORC) and animal protection NGOs, in collaboration with Transition (2019 to present)
  • Consultation between the French cow's milk industry (CNIEL) and French welfarist animal protection associations, in collaboration with the firm Transition (2018 to present)
  • Consultation between the French dairy goat industry (ANICAP) and welfarist animal protection associations (2017 to present)
  • Leading and co-leading consultation between INTERBEV (suckling cattle industry) and French animal welfare associations (2017 to present)
  • Coordination of a joint working group between the French veal industry (Interbev veau) and animal protection NGOs (2019 and 2020)
